We have successfully made it through our first destination. All 6 of us have finished our 2 weeks in Hong Kong happy, alive, and full of new experiences! We were blessed by and able to bless several defferent ministries while here. We began by working with Crossroads, a nonprofit organization that meets physical needs and resources. Goods are donated and Crossroads, with self-supported staff from all over the world and hundreds of volunteers, sends it to those in need- orphanages, churches, organizations, etc. We were able to get our hands dirty and enjoy new friendships as we worked. In addition, we got the chance to meet with one of the founders and learn not only the history, but the heart behind the organization. A highlight for all of us, an incredible organization! A large amount of time was spent praying for the nation, particular villages, and groups through prayer walks and intercession. One particular prayer walk was in the hills of a 750 year old village on Ching Ming, or Grave Sweeping, a holiday celebrated to remember and honor the dead. As we walked through all the activity, we worshipped and prayed for the people and the area. It was a powerful time. HAPPY EASTER!! Easter Sunday entailed a great church service with personal translators provided! Following the service and a great Hong Kong meal, we performed some dramas and testimonies in the Center on Hong Kong Island for a large group of Philippino women who gather there every sunday to socialize. When security asked us not to perform on the property, we resorted to some good conversations with the women, learning about their lives as Domestic Helpers in H.K. to support their families back home in the Philippines. Santhi ministries was towards the end of our time. A ministry that reaches out to the minorities in H.K.- the Indian, Pakistan, and African. They asked us to lead two of their services with worship, dramas, and speaking. Another great opportunity to engage in new friendships and share God's love and joy! Of course, between all the conversations, hard work, and bowed heads was laughter, new sites, and a closer bond within our wonderful team! God is good! So very good!
Our verse for the week has been: Psalm 27:4 "One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple."
Things to keep in Prayer: - Group Unity - Increased faith to be grown in each of us - Health for everyone, Shannon was out sick for a day and a half and many of us have felt cold symptoms. - Finances, praise God we are ahead of our budget so far, praise him and keep in prayer. - The amazing ministries we worked with in H.K.
Thank you so much for your prayers and support!
