Ok, so on a bummer note; we didn't have the greatest weather on Wednesday. It was still raining when we woke up on Wednesday morning and continued to rain for a large portion of the day. We took a small stroll around part of the town and we then went to the Duomo and the Baptistry. The Duomo is Europe's fourth largest church and is the tallest building in Florence. The Baptistry has large bronze doors and dates back to the 4th century. On the ceilings of both of these buildings are frescoes of the Last Judgment. We climbed up the dome in the Duomo and it was a hike up it! We strolled by the Academia where the statue of David is, but the line was a little long so we went to go get food at a wonderful little Italian restaurant and decided to come back to the museum on Friday morning. Julie and I split some four cheese pasta and a cheese and mushroom pizza that was excellent. Then we went to the Uffizi where we had to stand in like for a little over 2 hours waiting to get in. Once we were in, the madness continued with tons of tourists. It is known as Italy's greatest art gallery. From there we took a stroll through the market and stopped to get some gelati, which is seriously the best ice cream I have ever had and called it a day!
