Just went up to Quito with Iván for a few days to get cédula (ID card) as part of my visa. It was a good trip, nice excuse to go to the capital again- mustve been like my 7th time or something. We visited his youngest brother, Klever (yes it IS pronounced that way, it´s a Kichwa name), his wife Diana an two kids, Bullo (a nickname which means noisy) an Royer. Bumped into Hugo (Iván´s closest brother) and Kari (his Norwegian girlfriend) at the terminal so we all went visiting together. Of course it took forever to get there as Diana had come to the terminal an couldnt find us so we ended up goin to the house an couldnt find it etc in true Ecuadorian style!
Hugo an Kari only stayed an hr or so. Kari´s goin home on 10th an cant wait, sayin she misses the modern living, technology etc. Im the complete opposite- I could happily live out here forever!
Then, Iván, Diana, the kids an me went to MegaMaxi, the biggest shopping mall in Quito. I ws in charge of Bullo basically, holdin his hand across the streets to get there an walkin beside him in the mall. Iván ws really good with the kids too- he´s gonna b a great father some day. We had massive ice cream sundaes in the mall, which were pretty amazin. Bullo managed to keep himself relatively clean!
Klever came bak from his work as a security guard later at 8.45 an we decided to stay the night so as to spend more time with them- Iván hadnt seen his brother in a yr or so I think. Evenin ws spent play fightin with Bullo, watchin Helen of Troy on TV an helpin Royer learn to walk.
Wen we left in the mornin, Bullo ws really sad an wanted to come to Tena with us. Think Iván might hav a rival in him!!
Last night, bak in Tena, went round Iván´s house an there ws Livio an César up drinkin. So Juan- his cousin- ws called round an we all drank together. Not sure if should b worried about relationship between Iván an Juan, there seems to b an alarmin amount of flirtin...! Livio ws practisin his English- u always know an Ecuadorian is completely plastered wen they start talkin English, they´re always too scared wen sober! Anyway, he ws still understandable an we had a good talk.
