Dear readers
A little update:
Today I landed back on planet earth with an almighty bang. This morning I saw something that I haven’t seen for over 10 months... I saw 7am in the morning! It wasn’t a pretty sight, and neither was the underground as I battled to make the 2 hour journey from Romford to Clapham in an attempt to get to work... yes that's work!
That's right, I have a job. The time has come, my bank account resembles a duck pond in Ethiopia, and if I want to keep on throwing back the champers on girly nights out in the Sanderson I have to face reality - it's get my arse to work! So I have, and day one is over and reality is harsh!
Reason no. 2 for getting my lazy arse back to work; ok so Romford has been an eye opener, I've experienced life as an Essex girl, and apart from the 2 hour journey into work this morning, it's not all that bad. But, you can only kip on your Auntie's sofa bed for so long, and Iain can't walk round butt naked which upsets him, so we have managed to find our first love nest. Yep, that's right, on Saturday we move into our 10ft by 10ft flat in Belsize park. We opted for location location location over size, but you cant have your cake and eat it so we'll be thankful that I can role out of bed and onto the northern line down to Clapham, and Iain is thankful that there is an indian takeaway across the road. After 10 months in pokey hotel rooms it'll be like being in a stately home, so we keep telling ourselves!
I still havent got an engagement ring, Iain decided a plasma TV was more important. But apart from that, in the 3 weeks that we have been back (and it feels like we were never away!) we are doing pretty well. 3 bottles of vodka and half a jar on anti-depressants gets us through the day, and thermal underwear is ruining our sex life, by god it's cold.
Honestly - its great to be back, it's been great catching up with all our friends, and those that we havent got round to yet, dont worry, we havent forgotten you! We would invite you all round to our new pad for a house warming/engagement/welcome back party but we'd have to have a two at a time policy because of the size of it!
Time to book a holiday I think.
