I had intended on seeing a few museums but it didn't work out that way. I made it to Holburn Musuem. It's a small museum but it has an amazing collection of paintings, silver, furniture, porcelain and sculptures. I saw the work of Gainsborough, Guardi, Stubbs and Turner. Katya, I'm sure that you can further educate me on this. After Holburn I made my way back to Pulteney Bridge as I decided the I wanted to have lunch in one of the cafes located on the bridge. I sat and watched the river, the birds and people. It was really relaxing. I'm discovering another side me which is nice. I don't often take the time to just sit and be and over these two days I did just that. I hope I can continue this self care in Calgary.
After lunch on the bridge I watched some street performers and made my way to the Museum of Costumes. That was something that I was really looking forward to and it met my expectation. They had fashions that took you through 100 years of fashion. I even saw the famous green Jennifer Lopez dress designed by Versace. I guess Bath was a place to been seen and a place to shop. The Socialites spent time in Bath partying. The Assembly Rooms were absolutely amazing, it was an event manager's dream. I've never seen such beautiful rooms but unfortunately, I won't be able to share photos as that was restricted. You could take photos but only after requesting special permission and after hours.
That's it for now. I'm off to Tate Modern and Harrod's tomorrow. Katya, I dedicate this day to you.
Have a grea day.
Marie
