We stepped off the bus and wandered around for an hour or so, then found the mrt(metro)and made our way to the back packer area to a place called little India. This area was just like it's name suggests and although it's only afew streets big,It was full with Indian restaurants veggy markets and hundreds of Indian people every where.
The streets were really busy but only with Indian men so i think Sunday must be a special day in this area because there really was no women to be seen anywhere in fact the only other western people that we saw was an odd backpacker. We could't resist eating Indian food so we sat down in a restaurant on the corner and just watched the world going by.The food was bloody good too and one of the best Indians that i've had.
Day 2
We just chilled out in the morning then made our way by mrt( which is so easy to travel around)to Sentosa Island where our friends Paul and Kris had told us if you go to under water world you can dive in the aquarium with the sharks and rays so we could't resist.
We basically went down to the island on the off chance and got lucky,we only had to wait an hour before we were taken to get kitted up ready to go.The aquarium is basically a giant tunnel that tourists can walk though and see all the wildlife thats inside. The diver went though all the basics and i could see Jan was gettin very excited. When we got in we had all the usual dive equiptment except fins so we could walk around or sort if moon walk, it felt strange but good. We could see all the tourists lookin and waving to us through the glass. There was also sorts of sea life inside like moray eels, three or four different types of sharks, large rays and also a number of different species of fish aswell.I kept checking on Jan to see if was alright and all i could see was her cheesy grin behind her mask, even more so when we knelt down to feed the large rays and then were allowed to hold a nurse shark each. It was a really good experience but Jan just didn't want to let go of them bless her.
After about 30mins we got out very pleased with ourselves,we then went to watch some rare pink dolphins in a show. This was also well worth seeing. We headed back to have yet another Indian while chatting about the great day we'd had.
Day 3
This was another chilled out day which we spent buzzing about the mrt exploring the area. That evening we visited a local quay where we treated ourselves (for the last time before oz) to a spanish tapas.
Singapore is an amazing place and a really clean city, its the cleanest place we've ever been. All the people were really nice and a large percentage of them spoke really good English. The mrt also made the travelling about so easy. We will defiately go back, although it is quite alot more expensive than the rest of South East Asia it's well worth a visit.
