Well folks... we made it! We crossed the border yesterday around 2:00. It was a peace of cake. We could have been carrying contraband and they wouldn't have cared. So we passed quickly through Tijuana and drove down to Puerto Nuevo (mentioned by Chip). This is a funny little town known for their lobster, which isn't even harvested there anymore. But you walk down this street and there has to be about 30 restaurants side by side with owners and waiters all standing outside to give you the best deal. We were fresh meat walking down that street with no tans and flip flops on. They all tried to pursuade us to eat their lobster. Clay and I just walked up one side and back down the other side casing out each restaurant to see which one was the cleanest... lying to all the owners saying we'd already eaten. When we found the one we wanted to go into, we walked back and sat on the roof of the restaurant. We had to be the only gringos in town on a Monday. The view was fantastic of the ocean and the little main street... and the food.... DELICIOUS! We ate 3 lobsters, rice, beans, homemade tortillas, chips n salsa, and a beer. When you're in Mexico... you do as the Mexicans and we took a nice watered down shot of Tequila after our meal. Superb! Returning back to the road with full bellies, we drove to our campsite Mal Paso. It wasn't what we wanted so we drove some more to another campsite called Village of San Miguel. It was a little better with a cold shower and we met some friendly Canadians that invited us to dinner. But with full bellies still we declined and sipped wine in our beach chairs as the sun went down. Closing the night in, we watched a lighthouse spin it's lights and a cruise ship float like a Christmas Tree through the bay. And alas... a good night's sleep.

Well, we were sleeping good until we got three knocks on our van door. Surprised I woke Clay up and he went to the door. A local that had been parked at our campsite drinkin it up and listening to his music had run his battery down in his car. So in Spanish... he asked for a jump. With some gestures and broken Spanish Clay figured it out. We drove over to his car and gave him a jump. They were very grateful!

And then back asleep. We awoke this morning to a foggy bay and quiet! It was nice! We made some cereal and hit the road to Ensenada. Which is where we are right now. It's a very touristy city with a little promenade of shops and junk stores. We found this internet place on our map and headed straight for it to catch up with all of our friends and family! Which by the way... we LOVE all the guestbook entries! It's nice to have something to read when we post a message!

Our plans today consist of finding a good beach to camp on for a couple of days. Hopefully do some surfing... or learning to surf in my case.

Until next time... adios!
