The complimentary continental breakfast is much more than stale muffins and coffee from an urn. Ham, cheese, fresh pastries, fresh juice and actual service! Did I say it was all included?!? Well, I said it again then. We walked around to try to get some crepes at a restaurant that we saw yesterday – in the end we would have been happier just having seconds of what they were offering at the Inn. The most wonderful thing about the Inn – the 1pm checkout. That gives you plenty of time to have breakfast and walk around for some final things in the morning – like snacks for the road.
On the way home we stopped by Dallas’ friend’s restaurant that opened recently Rockin’ Baha Lobster in Redondo Beach where they serve buckets of crab, shrimp and lobster and Mexican food. We are familiar with both (note our trip to Hearst Castle when we stopped by Crackin’ Crab at Pismo Beach). Anyway this restaurant is fun to note as our trips are never without their adventures…. We ordered a bucket of crab and shrimp and fajitas and as the waitress was preparing to hand us our plates she dropped everything! Poor girl! We’ve both worked in restaurants at some point in our lives so we felt really bad for the girl. It’s pretty embarrassing to drop anything, the restaurant gets silent and all eyes are on you. Anyhow, a few people helped to clean, sweep and mop the wooden floors and she put in our order in again. As she was coming out to bring us our replacement fajitas on those sizzling iron skillets, she slipped on the floor that was still wet from time and dropped the order again! My heart went out to her, so sad, and that second one really wasn’t her fault, the floor was never dried properly. We decided to move to a safer table thinking that corner one was just bad luck, the cook brought out our food the 3rd time and our orders were comped. What a funny way to end our trip. =)
