Well sorry its been so long since I last updated the journal. I have no excuse except for being lazy. The computer im using is rubbish and wont let me use the spell check, hence the horrific spelling. I'll try to update this journal a bit more often from now on.

After my last entry me and Jon bought a car. Its a 1991 Holden Commador. Its a bit of a beast and a 3.8 leter V6. Its a big American style car that handles like an aircraft carrier but is surprisinly fast. Its not perfect, the fuel gauage occasionaly stops working, but it will do. Excited with our new car we then headed down to Cambera for a couple of days. There we did all the sights and went to a couple of museams. Cambera was a massive spraling suberb and felt a bit American and soulless. While we were there we had a look round parliment and saw a session of Prime minister questions. It was very funney and noisy with 6 members being expelled from the chamber by the speaker. We then headed back north to Sydney. Jons couson and her friend were due to fly into Sydney on the 19th. Jon had arranged to meet up with them and they were keen to travel up to coast as well. So we spent a few more days in Sydney waiting for them. This time we stayed at the north Sydney beach called Manely. Manely was in some ways even better than Bondi. With a loads of cheap food places and a great beach. It was becoming easy to see how some people come to Australia and never leave Sydney. Its unfair that a city can have such awesome beaches and surf as well as excellent night life.

We left manely and meet up with Sohpie and Lauren in Bondi and spent a day there. The hostel we were staying in was doing a bar crwal into town so we happily headed off. This however meant the next day we were feeling too ill to drive so spent another day in Bondi. Jon spent the night on the beach face down in the sand and I managed to lose my shoes (which I randomely found the next day). So we rented a couple of surf boards went surfing as the waves looked good. The sea is lovely and warm and it was the first time I had been surfing not in a wet suit. Finaly manged to leave Sydney yesterday and drove for 5 hours to Port Macquarie. We plan to stay here for two nights before heading to Byron Bay and the start of the gold coast.

Next entry: Fun and games in Surfers Paradie
