30th March - 9th April 2003. Well we got back to Bangkok safely, after a slight altercation with airport security as I'd forgotten to take my Leatherman out of may day pack - DOH!We headed straight back for Koh Sarn road, and got digs back at 'My House' without any problem. We'd had an amazing stroke of luck at the airport, our friend Kasem happened to be there with some clients, he picked us up and took us into the city, as usual he wouldn't take 'no' for an answer when he invited us out to dinner that evening! He took us to the best Steakhouse in Thailand - we couldn't believe how good it was to eat steak again, we've not had any since we left England. After that we went to see a Cabaret at the Asia Hotel, where not everything is quite what it seems - if you know what I mean! Kasem picked us up the following day also and we had lunch close to his house, visited his office and also met some of his family which was fantastic. His parents have the most beautiful house overlooking a lake, the place has a jetty where you could sit for hours, it's a really nice place. He then took us to the Safari park just outside Bangkok with his family, which was great, weliterally got inches from Bengal Tigers running free, Sarah actually got to bottle feed a tiger cub later on!
