Back to work at the factory!

I flew in this moring on a fairly nice flight to Managua. I met an Italian film crew that was doing a documentary on humanitarian projects in Central America. They were interested in this one, but they were also leaving today.. so no go. That said, I have run into 3 film crews while being here. One that was filming from Sweden specifically on hydro pump systems, which is what we toured for those first few days, one from the Travel Channel that was filming "off the beaten path" of places in Central America, and then these italian guys (which, for you ladies, were every bit of italian as you would expect them to be ;). I borrowed a cab drivers cell phone to make a call.. which I don't advise, unless you plan on taking that specific taxi. I got stuck using him to take me to the factory and we spent an extra half an hour for twice the cost looking for the place because, though he insisted he knew where it was, he truly didn't. I figure its my tourist tax, and its the first time that I can think of that I activly got "screwed" for lack of a better word on a service in Nicaragua (I spent $12 on the taxi when it should never have costed more than $5.. and thats expensive!)

Today I am back at the factory to work with the clothing samples that Jorge has made for me. They look wonderful!! I still need to try them on, but I really love what I see. I look foward to updating the website with our new designs, I know that they will go over well.

Everyone here is doing well and they have already cleared the land to begin building the spinning plant from the last time I was here a couple of weeks ago. It looks like the solar project will start rolling when I get home and recoup for a bit. Everyone who came by feels good about it, but there is still more work ahead for us, and a lot of fundraising to be done. I will actually keep tabs on our progress on this page from time to time after I get back. I certainly will update with more stories over the next couple of weeks, along with pictures.. as I'm sure I'll remember more stories when I see the pictures.
