26th January was Australia Day and we had already planned to spend it at the Zoo! Headed to Steve Irwin's place early to avoid the queues. Have to say it wasn't as big as I imagined, though not disappointed to say the least. Spent the first couple of hours watching the wildlife shows in the famous crocoseum! Got to spend time watching 'live feeding's with koalas and crocodiles. Even managed to hold a koala and have my picture taken with it - so cute!!
We stayed just the one night in Maroochydore, which is on the Sunshine Coast. Here, we stayed at Cotton Tree Bacpackers who celebrated Oz Day with a fantastic BBQ and beers - the Aussies certainly know how to have a BBQ!!
