Yummy Haggis! Fantastic "Loch Lomond" and "Auld Lang Syne"!

Tonight we spent dancing, dining, singing, poem-reading, talking, giggling and performing! The Johnson House has proven to be one of the most fantastic community building centers I've ever seen and it's all so happen-stance! The Johnson House is a building neighboring the Big Bungalow and was built by Dr. and Dr. Johnson (a married couple who are prominent members of the CMC/Vellore community). It is the site where all of us who are staying in hostels within the College Campus dine. Some are volunteers, some are visitors, and others are students, but with all of our diversity, we get along famously! :)

So, Moira, a Palliative Care Physician from Scotland who has been to India and CMC many times (and is setting up a brand new Palliative Care Center a few KM down the road)arranged nearly the entire party, hosted by a couple of physician friends in the nearby campus community. We had ceremonious song and dance and performance of opening of the haggis (sheep stomach filled with sheep entrails and oatmeal, generally). Everyone was so lively! What a unique experience to celebrate a traditional Scottish important day in India, with Indian, Australian, British, and American friends! :) I will post pictures when I get the chance.
