Warning: The following journal entry will be what the cool kids call "half-assed"...I'm 'le tired

I haven't written in an extremely long time. Let's recap. I went back to Illinois for a few weeks in December. I adjusted to the cold rather quickly. It was fantastic seeing all my family and friends again. I believe the majority of people who read this thing (all 3 of you) know what happened during those magical weeks, so no need to recount.

I have been rather sick the few weeks that I have been home. I think it is a combination of the time change/ weather change/ jet lag/ the copious amounts of alcohol i drank over the holidays. Couple that with have an EXTREMELY couple of busy weeks at school, preventing me from calling in sick, and you have an exhausted individual.

I also went through the immensely difficult task of coping with a student passing away. I understand that the types of students I am working with will always have the possibility of that happening, but nothing can prepare someone for it happening. You are truly missed, Aiden Boy.

I also learned when I returned that I would be getting a new student. She starts on Monday and I am uber excited for it. She is higher functioning that my two boys, so it is a challenge, but one that I am looking forward to tackling. I believe this is where I am truly in my element. I will fail and fail HARD with her! But I know how to use that to my advantage and work towards finding a groove that fits her. It will also help keep my mind occupied.

We have rats...god dammit, we have rats. I was lying in our hammock, reading a great book, and a HUGE rat ran on the ledge right above my head. So we set out snap traps. He dissembled them, I shit you not. So we have a terribly smart Rat on our hands. He needs a "smart" name. I vote we call him Francis or Seymour or Sherlock. NOOOO, I have it. His name is MacGyver! YES!!! Anyways, we are on a mission to kill MacGyver. I went yesterday and bought the Rat Zapper! There is no joke here, it is literally called the Rat Zapper! (with an exclamation mark...i didn't put that in there for effect). Hopefully it does the trick.

Okay, I think I have written enough. I will work on pictures and hopefully won't wait another 3 months until I write in this again.

Feel free to drop a note in the guestbook so I know I am not simply writing to myself.

Keep it rad
