I arrived in Georgetown, Guyana only an hour late, but with no luggage. I had the sense I would not see it again when I placed it back on the belt when I checked in at the Barbados airport.
My flight took me from Richland, Washington to Washington DC to Miami,Florida then to Bridgetown, Barbados. I had to go through Immigration and Customs there to check in again at Caribbean Star airlines to go to Georgetown, Guyana.
Arriving with no luggage was not a big deal, however, we were to leave at 4am the next day for a 5-day trek. Lukily, I had a couple extra things in my carry-on and my mom lent me some t-shirts. It was to be 5 days with the same jeans, though! I pity my fellow travelers!
See the pictures from the plane flying over the Caribbean islands! Although I am back from the 5-day trip, I am going to enter each day in a separate entry so you can follow along! By now you probably figured out Guyana is in South America, at the northeastern tip of the continent. Many people hear "Guyana" and think of "Ghana" which is in Africa. Welcome to Georgetown, Guyana!
