Arrived in wet Kaikoura on Friday and soon discovered it was to stay this way for the next couple of days:( We stayed at another backpackers called Dusky Lodge...liking the use of free spas and pools at these places!!

Spent the first few days shopping (you know Michelle likes to shop!) - clothes are cheap so making way in rucksack for a few small buys! Lost a member of our team during this time - Sarah love and miss you lots:(

Sunday was our activity day, and the sun came out for us:) Went whale watching and what a boat trip it was!! Within minutes, people at the back of the boat were suffering from extreme motion sickness! Have to say, that even I was feeling the tummy turning! Lucky enough, we soon spotted two whales together (apparently this is really rare) and a third a bit later on - amazing sights:) Also went searching for a pod of dusky dolpins - amazed to come across between 100-200!! Performed well for us - a number of shots obtained of dolphins performing backflips! Last sighting was of 4 New Zealand fur seals:) Ended the day with fish and chips at the seafront - happy days x
