We arrived after some changes of bus, and a valley full of hairpins (burp) at the bordercrossing with Costa Rica. This was a crossing not often used, we got out Panama no problem. But arriving in Costa Rica was funny, we first had to find the official (who was working on his jeep behind the building), he had to telephone to another guy who had to type in our names in his computer (and with Flo's name, this was getting hilarious, and in the end they still didn't get it right). When we were checked in, we wanted to go to San Vito, the next big town. But there was no public transport. "No problema" said the customer-guy. He closed down the border, locked his office and brought us there with his jeep. He first phoned the Panamenian site that his site was closed, so they could go home too :-) In San Vito we were welcomed by a real tropical rainstorm, it was pooring down heavily, the sky was black and the roads turned into rivers. For the first time since long we were "fresh" instead of hot. San Vito has Wilson's Botanical Garden, a world famous one with a lot of birds. We spent the whole day there, and it was indeed very nice.
