Why I'm the worst vegetarian...

2006-11-05, Ti Tanyin, Haiti

I am officially the worst vegetarian on the Hispaniola Island! Let me count the ways...

1. I have tasted soup that had meat chunks in it.
2. All rice and beans (a staple) are made with chicken broth
3. Pickales (haitian Coleslaw - another staple) is made with chicken broth.
4. I ate pizza that had meat cooked on one half.
5. I found chunks of bacon in my rice and beans and simply picked it out.
6. I ate fried plantain that had touched some goat meat (I tried to cut off all the spots that touched.)
7. We ran over a puppy. (That was horrible!)
8. I stepped on a lizard with my BARE FOOT! (That was even worse!!)

For those of you who don’t know me, I am (or was?!?!) an extremely strict vegetarian...it’s amazing what living in a 3rd world country can do to ones diet! For those of you who do know me, NO i am not going to be eating meat any time soon!
