So for the Bayram holiday, Chrissie, Bastian and I decided to head south for warmer weather and to see yet more of Turkey. After a 12-hour bus ride, complete with creeper who tried to feel up Chrissie, and stole B's camera, we arrived exhausted in Antalya. We caught a few hours of sleep, then headed out to check out the town. Beautiful weather, temperatures in the high 70's/low 80's the whole time. Had a DELICIOUS real steak dinner at our pension that night. The next 2 days we pretty much spent either at the beach or wandering around town shopping. Swimming in the sea was wonderful, and very salty. While Antalya is a very touristy town, it's pretty much the off-season, and being the Bayram holiday, many muslim families were out on vacation...... needless to say, we had quite the crowd watching us at the beaches. We really don't notice anymore, but I think B got a taste of what it's like being a female here, he kept saying "so many men are staring at you!" He was a good bodyguard tho. Unfortunately, by the end of our 3rd day there, I started feeling a little ill..... but we hopped on a bus for a 7-hour ride to Bodrum..........
