McDow and Ryan headed off in the morning across to Fife (where his family are, across the Firth of Forth), and the rest of us enjoyed a late morning before heading into the city centre to walk around Princes Street and on up to the Royal Mile. Had lunch at Deacon Brodie’s, a small and cozy pub on the mile, just below the old church-cum-performing arts centre/mall beneatth Edinburgh Castle. Then we hoofed it back to Ryan’s flat.
In the evening, we headed to the Opal Lounge on George Street, which apparently is the nightlife spot in Edinburgh. While we dined, Ashley Judd made an entrance and sat down only a few tables away, and apparently Shirley Manson, the lead singer from Garbage, had been hanging out there the previous night.
Though Ryan left after dinner and a few pints, we stayed on to check out the night club and stumbled home at 04:00, after being there since 18:30!!
