Poor Alex had to queue for 2 hours to vote on Sunday. Itīs quite normal though to have to queue for so long, donīt know why really, but it seems to take a long time. You have to obtain a special card that proves youīve voted (itīs illegal not to, although Alex just fudged the card, didnīt really vote) and if you donīt get this card, you basically lose all your rights as a citizen until the next elections!! At the mo, itīs a toss-up between Correa and Noboa (who is incidentally the richest person in Ecuador) and so thereīs going to be a "segunda vuelta"- not sure how you translate that, maybe second round?- in November.
On Monday, Alex and I met up with Fredy, Pato and some other boys. Pato is now back for good in Tena, as thereīs been a complete change of plans. His father enrolled him in some course or other, meaning that he couldnīt leave for Peru to go and travel with Emma, so now sheīs coming back to Tena this Saturday to spend 5 weeks with him!! So thatīs the good news!
Fernando also stood Claire up again, so she really is through with him this time! Useless child.
Today, could have MURDERED 4to nivel as they just wouldnīt learn and I was feeling quite tired I suppose. That class are just the pits. Thereīs such a difference between them and 5to. 5to are fine, even though theyīre not much older, itīs just 4to that wonīt work, who run around the classroom and always grin when Iīm yelling at them- thatīs what REALLY gets to me.... Grrr..
Breaktime went on for 15 extra mins today as the teachers were too busy playing basketball with the kids to notice the time!! My team won 3-0 which was pretty good.
6to and 7mo lessons went fairly well, but were pretty short because of the extended breaktime.
Now am in town to meet up with the girlies and then go teach in Barrio Amazonas. Have found out there are petroglyphs in Tasayacu, so hopefully will have time to see them today too. Tomorrow, am going to see the mini waterfalls and caves in Chambira.
