They´re just lizards...

The Galapagos wildlife is weird looking. Everything is too big, slow and stupid to exist.

Put a marine iguana in a competition with a British Grey squirrel and the little lizard will

end up spitting it´s teeth out along with the saltwater. They only move if you almost accidentally step on them. Stupid!

We´re on an eight day boat tour around the galapagos Islands and have just stopped into port for chocolate (there was something about fresh water but for all of us it´s a chocolate stop). So far we´ve seen three types of iguanas, blue footed boobies, pelicans, swallow tailed gulls, sea lions, sally light footed crabs and SHARKS!!!!! Aurore and I are diving when we can afford it and the marine life here is extraordinary. Seeing a 2 tonne sea lion come full pelt at you underwater certainly uses up the air quickly, and when a galapagos shark takes a shine to your yellow flippers it´s enough to remember to keep breathing!

The boat is a "tourist superior" class which means you don´t have to sleep with the crew (although Aurore still managed to get three crew members in our shower whilst she was asleep!

The boat can be a bit sickening when it´s rocking in the water, so Aurore has found the perfect remedy of sleeping ALL THE TIME. She´s known as the sleeping dancer by the crew (why do the crew have a nickname only for my girlfriend...)

We saw a dolphin pod of about 20 race along side and underneath the boat for 15 minutes, it was amazing the noise they made and the speed. They were swimming sideways and looking UP at us - large bottle nosed dolphins and very beautiful. No whales or hammerhead sharks yet but we´ve still got a lot of time left. Aurore´s birthday on Friday and still no present - argh!!
