I couldn’t sleep this morning. I woke up at 4:30 and tried to force myself to stay in bed and sleep until I finally gave up and got out of bed about an hour later. I showered early, got dressed and began to pack my things to get ready to check out of my room. I called upstairs to Dave & Phyllis’ room to see if they were awake so I could return Dave’s pictures and newspaper article that his father wrote. They weren't dressed yet when I went up there and I found out they were also without electricity. Somewhere on their floor, a fuse had blown I guess. I told them I was going down to the lobby and would see them in restaurant for breakfast when they came down.

I went to the front desk to inform them that there was no power in Dave’s room when Karen came up behind me. The power had gone out in her room as well, so the lady behind the desk made a quick phone call to someone in maintenance to get right on it. Karen and I went into the restaurant and discussed our day yesterday. As she was telling me about the surprise visit from some of her relatives yesterday, Dave and Phyllis walked in and sat down to join us. I had already finished most of my breakfast so I excused myself to go get my luggage from my room and check out. I had the lady at the desk make a phone call for me to Petru to see what time he would be arriving at the hotel and he informed her that he was only five minutes away. So I thanked her for help and went back into the restaurant to say goodbye to everyone. They were just finishing eating so all walked me out front just as Petru was pulling into the parking lot. He was went straight for my bags and got me loaded into his car while I exchanged hugs and goodbyes with everyone.

I was the only passenger Petru had going back to Romania this morning, so we both got a chance to practice up on our German since we had nearly an hour alone in the car to talk. I was very pleased to know that my German was just as good as his was and we did manage to have a very engaging conversation. He asked what my plans were and where I was going to next. I told him I was going to catch the train to Iasi and he looked at me like I was crazy. He told me they had many buses that go to Iasi that would be much more comfortable, quicker and just about the same price. So I told him to go ahead and take me to where I could catch one of these buses.
