Greetings friends!
So far today I’ve played volleyball with the Hope House kids, had two pictures drawn for me, played Go Fish with Georgie, ate popsicles with the kids in my building, took some pictures and to top it all off I ate 3 mangoes!! Life is good.
Monday is a big day for me, I start teaching at 8:00 sharp and cannot wait! My classroom is all set up, and I’m ready to go! Junior, Georgie and Beau seem pretty excited too! I think we’re going to have a great year! My plan is to be the best teacher they’ll ever have. :) We’ll have to wait and see if they agree! hehe My roommate Dana is also coming on Monday so it’s going to be a busy day! She’ll be here for 6 months working in the office with Brad, I’m really excited about her coming. I don’t start ESL classes until October 2nd, so I have two weeks still to wait for that. The kids ask me everyday if the can have English class yet. They’re going to do so great when we start!
I’m in the beginning stages of applying for my “Permission to Stay Visa” a.k.a. Residency card. I’m pretty excited about the fact that I’m going to be a legal Haitian Resident! hehe...I know I’m weird, but these things make me excited! I even get to have my own little Passport type book saying I belong!
And on that note, I better get back to work! I have a lot to do before Monday!
Have a great week!
peace and love,
Miss Rachel :)
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away. - Henry David Thoreau
