Long ferry rides suck. And long bus rides suck. On the other hand, that means I was out of the sun for a couple of days, which my sunburn is thankful for.
So, basically, I took the ferry to Athens which took well over 6 hours. Got to my hotel and pretty much stayed there the entire night, except going out for an hour or so to the Hondos Center (kinda like a department store) and to call home. I slept well. Then I woke up and went to the bus station and took the bus ride here to Corfu, which was 8 hours long. I met some guys on the ferry who were really nice to talk to. Also in Athens i was eating at the store at their restaurant, with a beautiful view of the Acropolis, and a Dutch man (who was rather attractive) joined me because it was the only place with a good view at the time. He is a tour guide for lots of places, and so had lived in Oregon for a while. He said he liked Salem the best, and I laughed, but he was actually serious. He said he liked it because it was more like the real America. It was interesting.
Anyway, now I'ma t Corfu at the Pink Palace. They give you shots of ouzo upon arrival. That are pink. I am not kidding. (and actually ouzo is not bad at all in shot form...goes down alright) If I dress like a boy and go to the cross dressing party, I get two more free shots. Everyone drinks. It's just like college. But the people are nice and I've already made some "friends". A few of us are going to go to a piano bar or something. I've only been here like an hour and a half too. It's nice to be social.
Anyway, I've gotta jet...will tell more soon, and I'm sure there's going to be some wild stories in this place...
