Arrived at 5am, was locked out of hostel for a bit, but soon got head down, when i awoke got chatting to a group of lads from Chester (Gaz, Dan and Craig) arranged to go out for a few beers in the evening.
Went for a mission round Belgrade seemed quite a nice city, usual pedestrianised section of town with all main brand shops, bought some flip flops for a quid as i had had the piss taken out of me solidly for a week for not having any and the most random part of the day was getting rejected from the zoo... sweet innocent me! Couldn't understand i word she was shouting at me, but there was no way i was going in! I think it was because she had no change to give me... which i think is scandelous as it was 2.50 to get in and i had a fiver! quite proud of my little feat though! i got a lot of dodgy looks as i clambered up the walls trying to get a look inside, only saw a few over sized pidgeons so wasn't that bothered!
Went out with the Chester crew in the evening to watch Red Star Belgrade and Milan in Champs league qualifer, was gonna try and get tickets but they were too expensive and it wouldn't have been a sniff on the sarajevo game, i'd seen on Sat.
We all went for a serbian special which was a sausage shapped meal that had supossedly baby cow in it with cheese, wrapped in egg and bread crumbs and fried... sounds random but was bloody nice, got stung for a salad that was the same prize of a beer... gutted!!
We had been adviced to head over to the river for pubs so off we trotted, took us a while to find a place that was open. it was all good laughs, cheap booze (quid a bottle), good tunes (they played Happy Mondays solidly for an hour) and good banter! got chatting to a crazy norwegian who took us to another boat, bumped into crazy austrian and italian that i had met in Sarajevo... Wicked night! Only gutting thing is that i wish i was in Belgrade for the weekend, festivals, DJ's, Gigs going on all over the shop!
