God is so good. The past 12 months have been hard, there were times where I felt defeated, lost and forgotten but now I can vividly see that there was a reason for each disappointment. I’m so glad God was with me through it all.
On Tuesday I got off the plane in Port au Prince and literally walked through customs. It was actually a little anti climatic ....I sort of thought that since there was so much chaos getting here there would be some sort of issue at the airport, or at customs, or something. I was off the plane, through customs and in the car with bags in hand in a total of 7 minutes. I guess God thought I had been through enough! haha
The Hope House kids are amazing! Not only did they remember my name, but when I first saw them they sang me 3 songs I taught them a year and a half ago! They keep asking when they will start classes again. I love that they all remember me as their teacher. They also remember that I helped paint the mural in the orphanage. One boy brought me over to a particularly bare wall and said. “Daniel here and lion!” I told him he might have to wait for Leanne to come and visit!
Haiti is a beautiful place. I wish you could see it! It’s SO green right now. Trees, grass, bushes with bright pink flowers...it’s so beautiful! My apartment has a great view of the landscape! I’m just so blessed to be here.
Thank you everyone who made it possible to get here, thank you for your love, your prayers, your support and your friendship. I would not be here without you.
