After breakfast we decided to get on the hop on / hop off bus. I still say this is the best way to get around and get a bit of information along the way. We decided to stay on the bus and see most of the route as showers had been forecasted (it’s not so good to be on an open deck bus in the rain). We got off the bus at the Louvre, however, we found out it was closed (on Tuesdays). We got back on the next bus and decided to get off at the Eifel tower. We walked the 300 or so stairs to the 2nd level of the tower, then Terry and I decided to go to the very top (you have to take an elevator). Jordan decided to go back down as heights are not his thing. There was a fantastic view from the top – you can see almost 70 kilometers in any direction.
We eventually made our way to the Hard Rock Café for dinner, and it was a lot of fun. This turned out to be a great day and evening. The weather had improved steadily as the day went on, and it was a gorgeous summer evening. On the walk back we saw many of the sights lit up at night, including the Eifel tower which ‘sparkles’ on the hour every hour.
We are having a great time in Paris. I wish we had left the coast to come here sooner. …..that’s my version……..Jen.
