I'm ready (again)

My very first journal entry said, I'm ready and for lack of creativity I'm using it again. I've really enjoyed my time in Alaska, it's beautiful here and it's always an adventure when you throw yourself in a place unfamiliar and in this case - very different than anywhere I've ever been. I'll look fondly back on the summer of '06

It's time though, I have so much excitement for whats ahead. In the most immediate future I can't wait to be home and see family and friends and visit Beloit and sleep in a real bed that doesn't run the risk of having an air leek. I'm excited for warm weather, relaxing, and not moving luggage.

I can't wait to be a student again and to be in classes with interesting people discussing a subject I really like a lot. I'm pumped (and a tad nervous) about living in a huge city and being on the East coast. There are so many people and places I'm looking forward to visiting. I'll have some growing pains I'm sure but this new phase of life is being welcomed with open arms.

I've enjoyed journaling - 5 years from now it will be fun to go back and read about rainy days, hiking, leaky apartments, salmon, and all the curveballs that have been throw at me this summer. I hope you've all enjoyed reading about Alaska and looking at pictures from this summer. Thanks to everyone for the guest books comments, phone calls, emails, and postcards...it's nice to be thought of now and again.

I've read a lot of a books this summer, 12 in fact, and here are a few of my favorites from the last 10 weeks:
I am Charlotte Simmons by Tom Wolfe
Holy Cow; An Indian Adventure by Sarah McDonald
Family and Other Accidents by Shari Goldhagen
The Curious Incident of the Dog in Night-Time by Mark Haddon
and anything by David Sedaris

Signing off for now, thanks to my faithful IATraveler readers for following me on this journey. I'm doing my best to keep life interesting.
