After a very stressful week I decided that I needed to leave work early on Friday so I left at 1:30. Perfect. I had several errands to accomplish and I needed to fit in a nap, as to charge my batteries for the night to come.
First I had to run to Kungsholmen to pick up my U2 tickets (YIPPEE!!!!) then I had to go to the liquor store, always an ordeal. then to the market to buy some picnic food.
Johanna (my neighbor) and Elisa (my friend from Madrid) came to my house at around 7p.m. We promptly left to meet up with Carina (my friend & collegue whom I have worked with at both EF and Aspect) and her friend Sofia.
We went to a park on Norr Malarstrand which was completely packed with people who were eating picnics, having drinks or playing Kubb (a Swedish game from Medevil times where to basically throw sticks around). We stayed there for about 3 hours and then went to a new place called Pontonen. It was a GREAT place! Reminded me of Newport. It's a floating open-air bar with big parasols and fun music.
Then we went to another place Lokalen where it was so hot we had to move on after a drink. Fia and Carina bailed on us then, but Elisa and I had just begun. We went to Cafe Opera, adjacent to Stockholm's Opera House (hence the name). We came in and made friend with the Chilean bouncer (Tito) so we'll come in any time now. That's not always an easy task in Stockholm. And we danced and danced and danced...
Mathew showed up with some friends which was really fun because I hadn't seen him since he got back from Luxembourg. But he disappeared as suddenly as he showed up so Elisa and I just kept dancing...
Finally got home around 4a.m. and Elisa couldn't be bothered to go all of the way home so she crashed here.
