Sad goodbyes were said to the Partner just over a week ago as the road trip wound up in Nice... at least the car went out in spectacular fashion cuttin ga few laps of the famed Monaco Formula 1 circuit, great stuff, you can pretty much lap the entire circuit just like Schumacher. We were looking for a quick 1 min 20 lap like the big boys, but with the traffic unfortunately had to settle for around 9 minutes... not to worry. Monaco was a crazy fantasy land full of millionaires and Ferrari, but like a rich piece of cake you could only take so much of the goodness, and a day trip was probably enough there.
Spent a few days around the Monaco trip people watching nearby in Nice, full of fake handbag carrying, leather skinned, small mutt carrying folk, very weird crowd there, the French Riviera attracts all types for sure.
Went to Berlin again over the past week to see my Swedish friend, ticking off a few sites missed in the World Cup craziness last time and generally taking it pretty easy, playing cards, watching films, but left a bit of time for the quality East Berlin night life on the weekend as well. Went to a club which looked custom made for models and beautiful folk which was white white white, including bar staff uniforms, see through curtains galore and general decor. Pretentious but entertaining stuff!
Finally made it to Scandinavia and Copenhagen yesterday. The highlight so far was sitting having lunch in a park with a friend. Some Danish guys turned up in full 1 piece white cloth body suits including hoods. They went to get another guy from somewhere, who proceeded to completely undress and slide down a modified plastic water slide tube ("birth canal") to be "reborn" (before he was getting married apparently). Finally they put him into a classy white suit and downed a few beers. They loved it. If all this doesnīt make sense, donīt worry, it didnīt to me either. However, all I can say now is look out first one of my friends to get hitched!
