We spent last night in Wurzburg Germany, which is along the Romantic Road. I day tripped this afternoon to a town called Rothenburg(row-ten-burg). It is the most well preserved, walled, medievil town in the area.
It only took me an few hours to see the town, and it was had a colorful history of pillages, protestants, and mayors. Legend has it that the mayor once drank a gallon of wine in a bet to save the town from a rampage. He slept 4 days afterwards.
The wall wrapped the whole way around, and there was once a draw bridge in several parts. I went to a musuem and saw the prison orture chamber. It was very pretty and also quite touristy.
I met some American tourists who were very impressed with the construction of the gates. I used knowledge gained from my "Rick Steves self guided tour" to impress them. Suprisingly they did not know who RIck Steves is, and I gave them the ripped out tour from my book. Yea for me.
Berlin is next for 2 days
Hamburg for 1
Rostock for a couple ..there is a disc golf course there!!
THen maybe UK, Denmark, or more rostock.
I leave from Brussels on the 8th
