I cannot find my Prague journal, so here is a shortened version.

Prague is wonderful. The train journey to Prague was very interesting. Looking out the window of the train you could easily tell you were in Eastern Europe. The people and the towns they lived in were uniquely Eastern European as well.

Prague is a wonderfully preserved city. Prague is one of the only cities that was untouched by WWII. This was very evident in the city center where there were countless old buildings and statues. Prague is the only city I have been to that has a special feeling. There is excitment in the air whenever you stroll out into the streets. Hanging out in the city center always made my hair stand on end.

Prague has a great culture based on theater and music. There are many concerts and jazz clubs throughout the city. During the day the city streets are filled with jazz bands and solo saxophone players.

One night I attended a local concert of a string quintet formed out of the best musicians in Prague. The quintet was accompanied by a pianist. Each person in the group was better than any individual musician I have ever seen in person. They were amazing and definately took my breath away. The same night Aaron attended a Black Light Theater. Prague is famous for its Black Light theaters and the Marrionette Theaters.

I spent a couple of days wandering the city and the countryside. One day Aaron and I took a 5 hour guided walking tour, it was really fun! They take you through the Jewish Ghetto, the old city, The Prague Castle, the famous St. Charles Bridge, and other famous sites near the city center.

Food and beer were extremely cheap. You could get a beer on tap for 50 cents. We stayed in a cheap hostel that represented Eastern Europe well. We stayed in a hostel that held over 100 people. We shared a dorm room with 38 other guys and girls. The walls were covered in graffitti, there were horrible smells I have never smelled before, and we were so close to each other we would wake up nose to nose with the guy next to us!

Prague is a great town to experience everything Europe has to offer. Cheap food, theater, beer, and sight seeing. Dad and mom would love this place.

Oh yeah. My pictures of Prague were terrible. Prague is a place you have to see for yourself. It is the prettiest city in all of Europe. And not to mention the best atmosphere in all of Europe!
