So our plans were foiled again. For the past 2 weeks nothing has been going our way. We are down to our last euros. We have enough to live for a week we figure. So here's a quick run down. We got to Kastelli expecting our friend Dimitra to have a place for us to stay for free and possibly some work. We arrived and when we met up with her she asked where we were staying. We were like "uhhh...we don't really know...don't you know of something?" It was awkward. She didn't know what to do, and we were crushed. We had no money and nowhere to sleep. We walked around the city for a while and eventually found an appartment that is owned by a friend of a friend of Dimitra's. The owner is a sweet lady from California and since we have to Californians she loved meeting us. She wanted to give us a good price because of our situation and she did. 25 Euros a night. That's pretty good. There's 2 single beds, sending David and I onto the floor which was a sacrifice for David. Anyway, even with the low price we only had enough for one week and then we would be flat broke. We prayed yesterday morning for a bunch of things but also just for a way to live, either a job or some sort of income, we had no idea. So here's where the cool part comes in. Dimitra and her friend were on their way over to our house for a visit when a guy came out of a restaurant and asked if they knew anyone that needed a job. Of course they knew someone! They needed a dishwasher but it had to be a girl. It turns out that both girls can trade off or work together to get off early but it was a flat rate...25 Euros total per night! Isn't that amazing? The exact amount we needed. So now the girls are working and David and I have some time to explore this island...heh heh, just kidding. We are looking for our purpose here. We really want to have an impact on people's lives. We have made some good friends and hope to spend lot's of time having fellowship with them. God is good and he's taking care of these wandering hobos.
Oh yeah, we're learning Greek. No big deal.
