WE arrived at Upendo Children's home in Muranga. IT is about 21/2 hours from the town of muranga combined walking at mini bus. THere are thirty girls at the home age from 4-13 Live is much different from America the children are dressed in what we would ocnsider rags. Dusty and many holes. They sleep all in one room. They facility is very bare just desk and beds. They eat the same thing everday mostly corn and beans and a flour dish called ugali. They are impressed by all our toys. They especially like the talking abc and 123 games. WE teach PE to standard 1 and standard 2 classes (There are only tow grades right now) as well as art and crafts, which can be anything creative. There are three girls with special needs I am trying to fin dout if they will let me work with them individuals. IF anyone wants to donate money to help to orphans, you can sponser an orphan. ITs 8 dollars a week, I can get you the information. They also have certain items that they need, let me know if you are intrested. ME and Melanie are having a great time. We get water from the well, and toilet in a hole in the gruond. There is solar electricity but it dose not work all the time. Thanks for the notes Nikki and Aunt Ellen.
