If there is one word to sum up our entry into Brunei borders, it's ...
Unremarkable
Not that we were looking for trouble LOL nor an eventful time at immigrations. But even when driving through into the capital of Brunei, there wasn't much (not even landmarks....save for that huge tapak sireh replica at the roundabout...that makes a great first impression.
We drove into town and arranged to meet Sarah and the others at the local Maternity Hospital (LOL - that being one place Gill and Sarah's mum know well). All of us then proceeded to Gill's home for a quick rest and bite. Then we all crammed ourselves into Gill's dad's 4 WD (all 7!) for a drive to have a proper look at Brunei.
So off we went, to the National Mosque, Jerudong Park (which was thoroughly obselete), to our company distributor office (a must for every visit to somewhere new), our first view of a 6 star hotel The Empire, early dinner at a restaurant by the side of the road and then back home.
The others left for the airport to fly to Kota Kinabalu, whilst I stayed back with Gill. Chilled out for a bit, ciggies in the balcony and then bed for another day.
