After several days of sunshine and heat, the clouds moved in and sent some rain showers for the city....no worries, just meant wearing pants and shoes, as the rain was that light misty type, custom of Portland. At the hostel, we met Tom, a gent from SoCal, who had been traveling with a group for the World Cup and than stayed a few more days.
We mentioned to him that we were headed towards the Staropramen Brewery on the eastside of the City, just south of the Castle. Tom joined us and as we struggled to find the brewery, we came across two Scots who joined us for the tour. When we arrived, the next tour was in German or we would have to wait a couple hours for the English tour. Being stupid kids and always wanting to try something new (i wish my nephew David was here to translate for us), we joined the German-speaking tour.
It turned out that we made a new friend in the Tour Guide, Stanislav, who was dressed ready for Woodstock in his long shorts, ripped t-shirt, and birkenstocks. STANISLAV ROCKED THE TOUR!!! He would present the information in German and than translate a short of the information in English....Very cool and than we got to attend the after party, which consisted of many free tastes from Stanislav and a low-down on the many fine cabarets that Prague has to offer....Thank you to Stanislav for making the tour a fun, family-filled experience!!!
