This weekend was fairly quiet, one of the first weekends we were actually at the castle for a full weekend. Friday we slept in which was FANTASTIC!!!! and then worked ALL day on projects we both had, and i am still currently trying to put a presentation together for tomorrow! Ugh! Friday night Ashley and I went to the pub at the castle "The Headless Drummer" and played some darts and had a few drinks it was good, Hung out with a lot people. Saturday we had a field trip with our History teacher, who was on crutches from tearing legaments in his ankle playing tennis, so he was a little slower than usual! We arrived at Knole, which I thought was a small country home, however, it turns out to be pretty much a castle! It is bigger than Herstmonceux. It was awesome! So Henry the VIII built this place as his summer home, and in doing this, he also brought in a ton of deer for a deer park, which still exists today, and they are pretty tame, kids were running around and they would just stand there. *Funniness coming up* So, these deer are like dogs, as soon as they see you have food in your hands they swarm you! Ashley had a bag of chips and 6 or 7 began to swarm her trying to get her chips. I had an apple so i thought i'd break it up and give it to a few of them. After the apple was gone, one came up and stepped on my toe, and it scared me so i jumped and probably let out a noise or something, well it spooked and kicked me in the back of my right leg..... *it's okay, you can laugh!* So now i have a nice big scratch from the hoof, and a big purple bruise on my leg, as well as a pair of torn pants. So that was the entertainment for everyone. My Prof tormented me about it all day! It's sore, but i think i'll survive! So we now have to write an essay on Knole. We came back around 3:30 and Ashley and I had a nap, hehe! and then had some supper, and came back and tried to do some work, however procrastination got the best of us and we ended up back at the pub again! We had a blast! Met someone who lives like a few houses down from mine in Kingston! how coinsidental is that! CRAZY!! So we chilled for a bit! We crashed around 3. Sunday morning we were up at 8:30 - EW! and went for breakfast around 9:30. Then headed to Pevensy Castle. We walked around it, got an audio tour as well. It was really neat! Awesome to see as well! We had lunch in a pub near by, and it was nice to warm up. It rained most of the time we were at the castle, so we were soaked! Thank goodness for rain jackets though! After lunch we headed back to the castle. However, we decided that we would walk home as one of our profs said it would only take around an hour.... 2 hours later we arrived back... we hiked through sheep pastures, cow pastures, hayfields. I was extremely happy to see the castle! My shoes were soaked from the rain, so i have some nice blisters as well! So that was my weekend! Now i'm going to get back to working on my presentation as i have to do it tomorrow morning! Procrastination is going to be put on hold!
MISS EVERYONE!!!
