The quiet morning allowed us to wash and change in the “toilettes” comfortably, and we were off to Papeete in a “le truck”; a red and white rattling automobile.
Downtown, we treated ourselves to a magnificent omelette stuffed with ham and cheese, croissants and coffee.
“Let´s go to the beach”
“Let´s go to the waterfalls”
“Let´s go see a small jungle!”
Our excitement confused us and all the friendly locals who tries to help diect us that eventually, we jumped on a No.3 Bus and dropped off by the Intercontinental. As guessed, we trespassed their beach. Well, and gardens, lazy-boys and hammock. Not to mention over-water bungalows, toilets and almost, a bill on a random room! :P
(It´s not as bad as it sounds…really)
“Who said nothing in life is free?”
“I am hungry!” (not again?!) Heh…
So back we went to the mall where we found, to our delight, rice (yes, yes, yes!) and later by the pier at sunset, a Tahitian “mamak” (outdoor food stalls) serving delicious banana & chocolate crepes!
Back at the airport, despite the lack of sleep and yes, lack of hygienic routines for the past 2 days, we merrily picked up our baggage and joined the lengthy queue to board LAN Chile for Rapa Nui – Isla de la Pascua (Easter Island)
(Oh, and of course, we scoffed down another 1.5feet baguette in the interim and our plane was delayed)
