Yesterday I went on another hike. We had the same guide, which I am glad about because he was SO good. He would stop every now and again and point out certain plants or give us some history of the town or interesting facts about the mountains. I found out he plays drums in a band and he told me he really liked the bands Coldplay, Nirvana, and the Foo Fighters. He asked me why there were no more good bands that came from Seattle... I did not have an answer for him. But the mountains are gorgeous, the air is clean, and everyone is friendly.
I leave for Zurich in a couple hours. I will be staying with a guy from Iowa City who I have not actually met yet, but who was introduced to me via email by my friend and coworker Tena. It will be nice to be able to talk about home with someone who knows what i am talking about. Maybe i'll get to do more hiking, too.
So far I love traveling by myself. I have met several single female travelers and shared stories. If anyone reading this has even the slightest thought about traveling europe, i say stop thinking about it and do it. If I can do it, anyone can. Unleash your inner badass... I think that I've unleashed mine. Look out!
