Wow, I don't suck as a teacher! My class took their first test today that covered four chapters. They did very well in general, although I have to say the test was pretty easy. Rachel is giving a harder test to her class tomorrow, maybe I will have to be harder on mine next time. I am excited for tomorrow though because we can finally start learning some adjectives! It has been so boring to have any conversation so far because they can't describe anything. I hope to have them writing great paragraphs by the end of the week.
I am finally not sick and I feel ready to take on the entire country. We went up to La Palma which is a city in the mountains yesterday. It was sooooooo high up,and I was riding in the back of a pick up truck, so I saw everything! It was so beautiful that I was speechless. You could see the farms all over the hills, and little villages all over. There were times when we were litterally in the clouds!
We stopped at a hotel at the top of the mountain and had hot chocolate that was delicious. It was one of the few things I remember from the fist time that I came to El Salvador, the wonderful cinnamon flavored hot chocolate.
There was a dance on Saturday night in our tiny little village. It was funny because they had about ten speakers piled up and blasted Reggetone music all night. The normally conservative youth of the area was out in full force grinding up on eachother with no shame! We just tried to stay back a bit and dance with some of the little girls that were there. It was awkward to say the least. ; )
