Well we made it and had a great time, a week of camping in our rented RV! Our week started on friday when we picked up the RV and loaded up Jessie and Jessica and all of our gear and food, oh yeah and the beer. We drove up to Maastricht and parked the camper on the side of the road and walked around the city and stopped into a local bar and had a few drinks, met a few of the locals and had a good time.
We woke up the next morning to a rooster, wtf? in the city? sure enough anyway we needed to move the rv from the side of the road so went and found a McDonalds and parked and made breakfast and then went for a 2 hour bike ride around the city before leaving for the campgrounds at Laandgraf Megaland festival grounds for Pink PoP. If you have never attended a european concert/festival I would highly recommend it, there are 2 that I have been two, Pink PoP and Rock Am Ring which are both 3 days of partying and listening to great bands, mostly from the US. This year Tool and Red Hot Chili Peppers headlined Pink PoP, and what an amazing show, the sound was off for rhcp but it was still fun.
Our camping spot in the main parking lot kept us isolated from all night party people, which was quite but peaceful. The rv kept our beer cold and the portable grill made all of our meals great!
After leaving Laandgraf we headed for Den Haag to see Rotterdam and camp next to the beach. We stopped and camped out in Delft which is famous for its blue and white proceline. We got to ride our bikes for quite awhile from our camp site. we stopped and visited a bar and a coffeeshop and met some locals just hanging out, very cool vibe everywhere in the netherlands.
The next morning we headed out to find a camp ground near the beach and were plesantly surprised to find a large campground 5 mins from the beach, which is where we decided to go and spend the day sitting on the shore and enjoying watching everyone playing and the sun beating down on our backs with a salty breeze making the weather just perfect. We rode our bikes into the town and walked up and down the boardwalk and then had a drink and decided to ride back to the campground and watch the sun set on the beach, what a great idea, the sun set is always a breath taker.
Thursday morning, the week has just flown by we have had so much fun and now we will part ways with Jessica as she finishes her backpacking trip in europe before going home to california to finish school. We head to Dusseldorf to meet up with our friend Travis and to see the Tool concert at PhilipsHalle, which was pretty good, although Travis was an hour late, we still got to hang out and after the show and have beers on the water front. What an amazing trip.
