Hey all, I made it back to Wittenberg after 4 wonderful weeks of traveling around Europe! My last update wasnt very detailed because I ran out of time on the computer. But our time together was so much fun! I took tons of pictures everywhere I went. I dont even want to know how much money I am going to spend on getting them developed! Near the end of our trip, we were all ready to get back to Wittenberg and have a few days of rest, and in Guys case, get back to the states. I was soo excited to see my parents in the airport in Berlin, but since we slept in the airport the night before in Amsterdam, I only got a half hour of sleep, and I was sooo tired! We had a few problems getting from Berlin to Wittenberg because they opened up a newly remodeled train station in Berlin, and that kind of screwed the whole travel thing up. So we spent a few more hours than necessary on a train getting to the other airport, were the trains used to run from, but we figured it out and eventually made it to Wittenberg. We checked into our hotel, and it is so nice. Yesterday I just showed my parents the town and this whole town fest is about 10 times bigger than I thought it would be. The reason of the festival is because a pretty famous man, Martin Luther, is from Wittenberg and it was around this time of year approxamely 500 years ago that he got married. So this weekend is a great big party. There is tons of live music the Entire weekend, tons of small shops set up along all the streets in the old town, and lots of little stands where you can buy anything and everything. Today we got to see the one hour parade. Everyone that was in it was all dressed up in Mideval Times costumes and there was tons of singing, drum playing, and beer involved! I met a really nice lady who started talking in German to my brother, and that was probably the best part. She was actually an English teacher at one of the secondary schools here in town, so she was great to talk to. I havent spoken German in about a month, and I felt like it showed when I spoke with her, but at least I did! Tonight I think the four Americans that are here still and a few teenagers who work at the universtiy are going to go out dancing at one of the discos here in town, and that should be a blast. I cant wait for that again, they were always so much fun. Even though I love traveling, i am getting ready to get back to the states and settle into my house back in Eau Claire and see everyone there again. I was also thinking that maybe on the 4th of July I will have people over to my house and we can watch the fireworks since we are on the river. So let me know if you are interested, you are all invited. I thought it would be a great way to see everyone again! Let me know what you think, and I cant wait to see you then!
