Tonight I will take a bus to Lviv, Ukraine. I should be there early in the morning. It should be interesting. Maybe someday I will visit Russia but for now this will be enough. I don't know how long I will be there. There are youth hostels in Lviv and Kyiv as well as cheap Soviet-era hotels. I will know more when I get there tomorrow. I don't really have to study tidbits of this language as I already know enough Russian to get by (even though I do not know Ukrainian, the languages are effectively the same and all Ukranians know Russian). I wish I could have studied more but I did not consider Ukraine until I was in Budapest. It is such an awesome language. From Bucharest, I was entertaining going to Moldova and then Odessa, but I was unimpressed with Bucharest and I felt that Moldova would have been the same way, even though I was only going to stay for a couple days. It was going to be difficult and long to find transportation around Moldova to go to Odessa. I was going that route because I didn;t feel like paying for a transit visa. So, that is why I went north. Looking back I knew what I was getting into. I had a good time ripping on the city and it's seedy characteristics. Krakow was nice. I may return to Warsaw after Ukraine. I spent plenty of time at Auschwitz yesterday. I went with a girl from U of Iowa. It was a good exhibit and I am glad I got the opportunity to see it. I think it is a good thing I haven't reached Czech yet as they will play the US at some point in the World Cup. Polish food was excellent (and so cheap), the beer was good (and cheap too), again, decent women (cheap!)(only kidding). To the Ukraibe..away!
