Here's what's happened to our team in recent weeks:
Turns out Elya had to have her appendix removed and we all stayed in Bangkok a few extra days. Kayla was also ill and needed to recover as well, so the team had to spilt up for a while. Elya, Kayla, Ruth and I (Julie Anna) stayed in Bangkok while the girls recovered and the rest of the team (Eric, Jeremy, David, Alison and Sara) went on to Calcutta, India. So the team in India continued as planned, working in the Mother Teresa home and spending time in prayer. Kayla and I managed to meet up with the team a week later. We weren't able to make our first flight to Calcutta because of some mis-booking/confusion with the airline. However, we were able to make the next flight there (2 days later) - thank you to all of those that prayed for us! The flight was overbooked by 18 and God still made a way for us to get on! Elya and Ruth remained in Bangkok and recently flew to Deli where we will rejoin them in a few days. As far as I know, Elya is healing nicely and Kayla is doing much better as well. When Kayla and I met up with the team, the following day we all took an overnight train to Varanasi. When traveling anywhere in India, it's every person for themselves and personal space does not exist. We managed to make it to Varanasi with all of our bags and are currently staying at a nice guesthouse here. This week we have worked at another Mother Teresa home, ministered to a group of village children, and helped make cards with widows here.
Thank you all for keeping us in your prayers! We continue to see God move in and through our lives.
Blessings to you,
Julie Anna
