We opted for a boat ride from Cebu island to Iloilo island. The trip took about 12 hours. Much of it was spent sleeping. We had bought tickets for an Ambassidor cabin which bedded 4 but there were only three of us. Fortunately we were loud and drunk so on other passengers didn't want to room with us. In the morning, we went to the bow and got some nice pictures and saw a few flying fishes.
Iloilo city is smaller and more congested. The drivers here are just as crazy was anywhere in the Philippines. Everybody is just fighting for their way or blocking a whole intersection to have the next right to cross.
We also went to the small island of Guimaras right of Iloilo, which was where AJ's parents 25th aniversary took place.
The next week, we took a 6 hour road trip to the island resort of Baracay. The beach and ocean was great. White sand beaches and clear blue water, perfect for a swim. The first night, we headed towards station 1 to hit up the club scene. AJ took 15 mixed shots in 20 minutes, thats crazy. He also got his name put up on the wall. This was followed by more clubin on the beach front. Everybody got drunk from Tequila shots and went swimming at 0100 in boxers as well as bikinis. The next day, we took a dump truck to the other side of the island where there wasn't any tourist and went snorkling. This was by far the high light of the trip. After this, we went back to the main beach front and took a ride on the Flying Fish. This is a raft that holds 6 people and is towed by a speed boat. The catch is that the rope is tied to the raft at mid piont and when its dragged against the wind, it raises up to a 60 degree angle. After bumbing of waves, everybody fell off. Not to mention that my fore arms were useless for about 20 minutes due to the strian from trying to hold on for dear life.
