Sorry we haven't written in a while but we haven't really had access to the internet. But I will try and update you the best I can on the last couple of weeks...

3 weeks ago we got to Pastor Gabriels house in Lugazi, Uganda. We had a really nice bus ride to Uganda, there was lots of room. WHOO HOO!! We were all so stoked when we got there because he had electricty!! We hadn't any electricty for the whole time we were in Kenya!! But the our first day of ministry we got rained out, so we had time to prepare for the busy week. Jed came down with Malaria and Melisa was recovering from Malaria, so they stayed back the next couple of days.

We started out by doing door to door evangelism, it's really cool how everyone is so receptive to the gospel out here. A few people excepted Christ into their hearts, but mostly we got to pray and encourage people. On that Sunday we split into 3 different groups to preach to different services. Rebecca, Paul and I (Keia) went to the new believers service to preach. Olivia, Jed, Leah, and Jeremy all went to the children's church. And Melisa and Becky preached at the adult service. We all came back together and Leah and I (Keia) preached at the main service and we did a few dramas. It was a big step for all us because since then we have become accustomed to preaching.

We built a mud hut for a woman who was living in a house that had only a kitchen and one room but it was going to fall apart, so we built her a small two room mud hut from scratch. We collect reeds and we carried them on our heads, African style. We had to walk to a well to fetch water to make cement, and had to walk up this HUGE hill, we got some major exercise in that day!! Melisa mixed cement/mud with her bare feet, it was made out a termite hill, she got bit once. We had to put in the foundation poles, tie the reeds on with string and then apply the mud. We didn't actually get to finish because we took half a day off to see the source of the Nile.

Then we went to Pastor Timothy's house. This is where the full on work began. We split up into two groups, Melisa and I (Keia) went to help out at the clinic and the others ran a program at the orphanage. We went to his church and spoke and then Jed shared a testimony. We went to a crusade 3 times and sung and did dramas, and Leah, Becky, Paul, Melisa, and I(Keia) shared testimonies. We helped paint the clinic and went to a church conference for a couple of days. Becky, Rebecca, Leah, Melisa, and I all got our hair braided it was an awesome time to talk and minister with the ladies that did it, and we look pretty durn good too!! On that Sunday we split into 3 different groups and went to different churches and all preached. We all have our own stories on how God moved and blessed us with the words to say. It was awesome!!

All together our time in Uganda was amazing. A real growing expierence for all of us, through preaching and non-stop working. Our hosts, Pastor Gabriel and Pastor Timothy and everyone else that helped us, totally blessed us those two weeks. It was an awesome time!!
