Well in less than two weeks I'll be embarking on the greatest adventure of my life. The past couple days I've been busy researching Eastern Europe -- thanks to a hot tip from a Miss Jane Rhyu (a high school friend from Jersey) I will not be scorned and labeled a traveling dweeb by more advanced and worldly backpackers; I ditched my “Let’s Go” travel guide for “Lonely Planet”. So that makes the total number of guidebooks to….hmmm….I don’t know….about 7. I also found out that the lovely “Colloquial Hungarian” language instruction cassette and textbook I got courtesy of the Hightowers in Houston will be the very same cassette and textbook used by the language immersion program I take prior to classes. Who knew? Santa took me clothes shopping the other day and I walked out with two pairs of pants, two long-sleeve shirts, gloves, and a pair of shoes. If you guys haven’t already you should check out some of the deals that are going on at your local outlet malls…
I’m heading up to New Jersey on Tuesday where I’ll be visiting high school friends until Sunday. I’m staying with May Chiang (my wonderful “sis-in-law” from high school….don’t ask…) and Rachel Hunsinger or “Flisses” as she is known to Nassau Presbyterian Youth Group Class of 2000, 2001, and probably 2002. I wish you all a happy new year.
