Hi everyone, sorry it has been a while since i last updated what we have been doing. I went off to Patagonia with Alberto and Norborto. Shei stayed back to prepare for her demo. We did some fishing in some incredible lakes overthere. We flew into San Martin de los Andes via Neuquen (whose local governor had just been captured on a secret camera admiting to taking bribes in order to grant political favours). When we arrived at the tiny airport we hired a little car which we subsequently thrashed on the dirt roads of the area. The area is amazing, small towns surrounded by crystal clear lakes, dense forests and snow capped mountains. Bit of a swiss alpine village feel to it. We hired some fishing guides on a few different days and did some different types of fishing. I had a go at fly-fishing but in the end i used the conventional rod and reel. 10 metres of fishing line whipping back and forth in the air with a vicious hook at the end of it is best left to those who know what they are doing. I didn´t want to catch anybody “There´s Something About Mary” style. We fished in some unbelievable lakes. In order to get to these places we did some pretty hard core four wheel driving. Without our guide´s 4wd it would have been impossible to get there. The colours of the area were so bright. Red, yellow, purple flowers all over the place. Our guides were absolute masters, they had been born and raised there , and knew everything there is to know about the area. The places were completely deserted, just us and the silence. These huge lakes were full of totally pure water. Out in the middle of the lake, surrounded by the andes, we could just reach down and scoop up some cold water and drink it. Incredible. We caught some fantastic fish as well, cooked one up and ate it. Apart from the yummy fish, we saw a bunch of animals – wild deer, wild pigs, a huge variety of birds, cows, sheep, horses. In the tiny village of Villa La Angostura we did some trawling. It is not a particularly difficult type of fishing. Get in a boat, throw in the line, sit back and relax and wait till the fish bite. We didn´t get many bites, but it was still lots of fun, the views were insane. Then we continued up to the big city of Bailoche where we took a plane to Bs. As. Anyway, that´s all for the moment. Since then we went back into the old habits of going out and shopping. Will write some more soon, take care, sasha and shei
