Beautiful. Chill (relaxed). HOT! Muscat, Oman. What a place.

This was the first country we'd been to that I really felt we had a definite purpose.

Okay....finally.

We arrived in Muscat, Oman in the evening and were met by Todd, Sparky & Renuka. What a group of crazy peole. I'll be honest by the time we left, it felt as if we were leaving good friends behind. And I believe we were. Moving on....

After we got our bags we were loaded up in two seperate vehicles and taken to our host home. Let me just say.....WOW!!!!! Huge home. Like 7 bedrooms. Two living rooms. A/C (which was needed) It didn't take long to get settled in.

Then next morning we woke up and met for prayer and that night we met with Todd, Sparky & Renuka again. From prayer that day and the meeting that night, it was clear that we were there to support the local church. The church in Oman is best described as monitored under the Omani government. And recently has come into some tough times within. So a majority of our time where was praying for the church. At times that wasn't easy. We also felt we were there to help support and encourage the church members and some staff. It was great getting to know each one of them.

Our mornings into the afternoons were spent in prayer and worship.

Some of our team even got the opportunity to go work with some kids in the expat schools there. They loved it. That night they came back laughing so hard they could barely talk. As a group we also got to work with the youth ministry in the church & a couple of us got to talk to the youth leaders about what the Y has to offer as a school. So that pretty much covers our time there as far as ministry.

Like I said earlier the weather is Hot. HOT HOT HOT! Did I say hot?

One day we went to Nizwah with Brett. All piled into this Toyota. It was blistering outside. Nizwah was a fort they use to use in Oman. Now it's just a tourist attraction. But after tha we went up atop Green mountain. It was so cool outside. Like 90 degrees. If you can consider that cool!!!! But while we were up there we went to a small town called Siq & walked around. And then outside of Siq is a place called Wadi Bani Habib. We got to crawl around some old ruins from a long time ago that hug the walls of the Wadi. Such a beautiful country. I wish I had more time to travel around the countryside!!! With A/C of course.

A lot of other cool things happened in Oman. The first morning we were there, Josie & I were looking through this huge book on Oman. We came across a photo of some sail boats and I said, "You know, I've never been sailing. I'd love to go!" Josie agreed. Well two minutes later Jenn came downstairs and said, "Brett said that if we want a tour of Muscat we should go soon, and tomorrow he's going sailing and wanted to know if anyone would like to come?" My mouth dropped. As did Josie's. It was pretty cool, if you can put something like that into words.

Another time we were with Renuka and her sister, Rohita, out takin' a boat ride just outside Muscat. Well durning boat ride Kristen was quietly prayin' to see sea turtles. Well about 5 minutes later this Omani gentleman said he would take us for free to see these turtle cause he wanted to share his country's beauty with us. So we saw sea turtles that day.

It was like that a lot there. Blessing after blessing. We were even given a car for a day from a gentleman from the church. What do you do when that happens? All we wanted to do was drive around. It was an awesome time and a very beautiful country.

But that pretty much sums it up. I know I forgot some stuff, but I wouldn't be able to tell it all to you, and to be honest you'd probably loose interest. Just know that it was an amazing place. And if you ever get the chance to go.....do it.
